About museum
The Blacksmith’s Museum is situated in the blacksmith’s workshop of Gustav Katzke (1868–1944) in the heart of the old town where the workshop was active in the late 19th and early 20th century.
The exhibits comprise such items as e.g. authentic blacksmith tools, bellows, forge, hand-forged weathervanes typical of the harbour city, iron burial crosses dating from the late 19th and early 20th century and fences from the old city’s cemetery (now the Sculpture Park).
One may have a piece of a Baltic decoration made with the help of the museum staff in a genuine blacksmith’s workshop atmosphere.
